Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology (TGPCET) was established in 2007 by Vidarbha Bahu-uddeshiya Shikshan Sanstha (VBSS), a registered society. It is a self-financed private engineering college, affiliated with Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Nagpur, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college is also approved by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai, Maharashtra State. The institute is accredited with an A+ grade (3.32 CGPA) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is an autonomous institute affiliated with RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. The B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering and B.Tech. Electrical Engineering programs have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for three years (up to 30th June 2026), and recently, the B.Tech. Civil Engineering and B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering programs have also been accredited by the NBA for three years (up to 30th June 2028).
The college offers four-year B.Tech undergraduate programs in ten engineering disciplines, namely: Bio-Technology (B.Tech), Aeronautical Engineering (AE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML).
TGPCET offers eight postgraduate programs in engineering: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Integrated Power Systems (IPS), Structural Engineering (SE), Electronics (Communication) Engineering (ECE), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML), Mechanical Engineering Design (MED), Aeronautical Engineering (AERO), and Electric Vehicle Technology (EVT). In addition, the college offers two-year postgraduate programs in Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
TGPCET also conducts three-year diploma programs in six engineering disciplines: Civil Engineering (CE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Information Technology (IT).
The college is located amidst the Multimodal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) and is also in proximity to the Butibori Industrial Area, Nagpur.
The Sanstha was established by dedicated and renowned academicians committed to imparting quality technical education to students aspiring for careers in Engineering, Technology, and Management.
The college offers additional industry-oriented courses beyond the syllabus to expose students to real-world industrial environments. These include courses in MATLAB, AutoCAD, CREO & ANSYS, STAAD Pro, CCNA Networking, Python Programming, Salesforce CRM, PLC SCADA, Bioprocess Product Development, Oracle SQL, PHP, PCB Design, Fundamentals of Programming, and CATIA V5 R-21.
The college has signed international MoUs with Lincoln University College Malaysia, SEGi University, Malaysia, and Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.
It has also signed a MoU with Guntur, to enhance academic and research capabilities of both faculty and students in emerging fields of science, engineering, and technology.
The college employs highly experienced staff with diverse backgrounds in teaching, research, and industry, who are dedicated to educating students from all sections of society and fostering high moral and educational standards.

The college is guided by an advisory committee comprising eminent academicians from prestigious institutes and renowned industrialists. The institute strives for excellence in imparting technical education by motivating students to become global leaders and trend-setters. To implement its quality policy, an action plan is collectively prepared by the Principal and Heads of Departments (HoDs) in alignment with the vision of the Management. Regular interactions are held between the Management and the Principal to review the implementation of quality plans.
The institute has implemented a NEP 2020-aligned curriculum from the academic year 2023–24 to promote the holistic development of students through interdisciplinary courses.

→ Academic Credit for Internship Award – 2024 by EduSkillsDr. Mohan Gaikwad-Patil, with more than 35 years of experience in the education system to his credit, established the Gaikwad-Patil Group of Institutions in Nagpur to cater to the quality education needs of the youth in Vidarbha. His early experience teaching in an engineering college made him acutely aware of the gap between engineering education in the country and the requirements of the industry.
With this insight, he began with the dream of starting an engineering college that would equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes relevant to industry needs. That dream has manifested today in the form of an educational group well known in the region for its constant efforts to impart quality and industry-relevant education through courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, Architecture, Polytechnic, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy, BAMS, Physiotherapy, and Nursing.
Still in his early forties, Dr. Mohan Gaikwad-Patil is the young and dynamic face of the group. His contagious enthusiasm and unflagging drive are truly inspiring.
